A website that I enjoy visiting.

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!

Today I'll write about the website Google Arts & Culture.

Google Arts & Culture is a website that allows us to explore museum collections from different countries through high-quality images of artworks. The website also allows us to explore historical and cultural sites through the street view of Google Maps. Another section that is so funny about Google Arts & Culture is the game section, where there are games like cultural crosswords, visual crosswords, puzzles, or questionnaires such as What came first?

I visit the site frequently because I always look there for the paintings, sculptures, or any artwork mentioned in the classes, and so I can see all details of the artworks. And that is why I like the site because I can get information about art and culture, and I can see the images on the website, which are also of good quality.

How safe is to give your personal information on websites?

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog.      Today I`m going to write about websites and social networks. About this, I think that social networks and websites are not a safe place to give out our personal information, because, the information is available to all users, and someone can use our information to defraud us or defraud another person. On top of that, if we put our address or  intimate information on our social networks we run the risk that someone damages our physical integrity.      In my case, I`m careful to keep my privacy on the internet; I use two social networks and I don`t talk with strangers; and  for safety, I don´t put my address, my phone number or another type of information, like my date of birth, on my social networks. That is my limit. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this blog :) Francisca Contreras M.

A subject I've enjoyed studying this semester

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about a subject I've enjoyed studying this semester. One of the subjects that I've most enjoyed in this first semester has been Aesthetics and Artistic Modernity. Generally, what we did in class was analyzed texts and artworks to understand modern poetic and aesthetic debates of the period. For that, we analyzed with the teacher, authors like   Edgar Allan Poe, Paul Valéry, Guy de Maupassant, and one of the most important, Charles Baudelaire with his text  The Painter of Modern Life;  and also artworks like The Balcony, Luncheon on the Grass  by Manet, and The Orchestra at the Opera by Degas. In summary, the main contents that we have seen are modernity, literature, and artworks of modernity. And about why I liked this subject I can say that I liked it because, quite simply, I think it is a fascinating topic. This subject helped me to understand the art production after modernity; for example, the artistic production of

Why did I choose my major?

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog Today I`ll write about my major: Theory and History of Art. First, Let me tell you about my dream job when I was a child. When I was six or seven years old, I dreamed of becoming an astronomer, and explore the universe, like many children. Then, when I grew up,  I was very interested in  psychology and, it was one of my options to study because I wanted to understand the human being. But then I understood that I could also understand the human being through art, and for that, I`m studying Theory and History of Art at the University of Chile (this is my third year studying). I choose my major because, in my opinion, art is interesting, and understand it can help us to understand other things about the  human being. Apart from this, I hope I can help to make art more accessible to people. Finally, my experience at the university  has been good; the teachers are good, and the content they teach is interesting; however, the pandemic has prevented us from
